Candles Care

This is the page where you can find out everything you need to know about our candles. Tips, tricks and advice.

Candles Care:
  1. Regular size candles normally burn around 45-50 hours.
  2. We are using wood, cotton and linen wicks.
  3. In order to get the most out of your candle, burn it until the entire surface of the candle melts.
  4. To preserve the fragrance, do not burn your candle for more than 3 hours at a time during the first third of the candle and 1 hour at a time during the remaining.
  5. Do not leave candle burning unattended. Do not set in a draft. Keep away from children, curtains and pets.
  6. If you are burning more candles simultaneously, leave a safe distance between the vessels, at least 10cm.
  7. Should the wick require centring; usually for a cotton wick, gently readjust to correct position when the wax is still molten. Allow candle to solidify before relighting.
  8. All our wicks promote self-trimming; however, should any black smoke appear, trim the tip of the wick. It should be clean and no longer than 5mm at all times.
  9. Always protect the table or surface on which the candle rests (with a stone slate, wood or ceramic plate, for example).
  10. Do not burn your candle all the way down. Always leave at least 5 mm of non-molten wax at the bottom.
  11. Keep your candle in a dry and temperate environment, away from direct heat or sunlight, between 15°C and 30°C.
  12. The first use of your candle should occur within the first two months after its reception.

Candles Ingredients:

The scents:
In order to give our candles fragrances depth and build the olfactory pyramid with top, middle and base notes we use single fragrance oils and blends of essential oils.

The waxes:
We use plant based organic waxes, hydrogenated vegetable oils, vegetable and mineral wax blends.

The wicks:
We use two types of wicks, wooden wicks and cotton interwoven with linen thread which promotes self trimming and minimises the afterglow and smoking.

The Vessels:
Our vessels are handcrafted individually by expert Potter Jessica Perry, owner at Pots by JP.
The ceramics are then fired three times in the kiln in order to ensure their fire/heat safety. The abstract coin like emblem it is our logo and it is painted by hand with gold paint.
