Our eco-friendly and ethically sourced and produced pieces are the perfect way to rock your style and keep Mother Nature happy at the same time with sustainably handcrafted products made from nature-friendly materials.
- Social Impact
Sick of the same-old, same-old? So are we.
We are a young brand but as old as time itself and we are not here to re-invent the wheel, but yes, we do believe the way we shop should benefit the community and everyone around us. Hence why when you shop with us you make a difference in someone’s life! We work with small independent businesses and creative artists to give back to the community and support their dreams. This is our own little way of giving back to the local community. You can read more about our social impact and the creators with work with on our blog.
- Environment
Our products are handmade in small batches, and this is how we plan to remain. We make most of our products to order, helping to reduce the use of plastic and chemicals, while increasing the use of recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable materials. With our commitment to protecting the environment, you can be sure that each purchase contributes to a sustainable future, because for us sustainability is an act of balancing just like our stones logo.

Ingredients:
We use natural ingredients, chemical free, organic where possible. From plant based waxes, natural organic oils and butters to FSC certified paper and wooden wicks from native trees and responsibly sourced salts. Whilst we are against animal testing, and most of our products are a great vegan choice, we may potentially use honey, beeswax, dairy etc. in some of our products. All our ingredients can be found on the How it's made page if you have any lifestyle concerns.

Packaging:
We source our packaging as locally as possible and usually it is delivered to us by electric vehicles for a low carbon footprint.
All the cotton that we use for the tote bags and pouches is unbleached, organic and made to order with upcycled inks in order to cut down on the already high fashion waste.
We use amber glass not for style but because amber glass has natural UV protection and keeps the contents inside safe and fresher for longer. The vessels are refillable, reusable and recyclable. Everything about our vessels has been created with environment in mind and to minimise wastage. They are reusable, can be repurposed or refilled. Hence why all our labels are removable; just peel them off, recycle them, then give a good wash to the vessel and repurpose it or refill it. This applies to the all our glass vessels, jars and bottles.
Nearly all of our products come with minimum packaging, plastic free as much as possible to cut down on the microplastic from labels and additional unnecessary single use plastic. Of course, there is plastic in our products, we would lie if were to say we are 100% plastic free, plastic is part of day to day life; however, it is only for hygiene purposes to keep contents safe and sealed such as (lotion pump, seal of a cap etc.) or information purpose, a small label to identify the product and be able to research it on our How it's made pages. You are responsible to read full ingredients on our designated pages for each product, as our products do not have detailed labelling, or alternatively you can email us at hello@stoneagelondon.co.uk
When we do use packaging for our products we ensure it is made from FSC certified paper, recycled plant/paper waste or sourced from ethically managed forests. We use water soluble corn starch peanuts and 100% recycled paper filling for product protection, paper tape and even artisan made seeded paper so you can plant it and give back to nature with every purchase. The plant seeds used in the process are UK native flowering plants to create a beautiful colourful patch of happiness wherever the card is dropped, that may be in your garden, a garden bed or park.
Our brand 9ct gold seal label it is made from natural occurring materials; a mixture of wax, resins and naturally occurring mineral mica powder. However due to the process of how the wax is made, it doesn't biodegrade anymore; but, it can be recycled as many times needed. Hence why we reuse it by melting it and casting it into a brand new label, therefore we urge you not to discard them, please let us know, then you can post them back to us so we can recycle them adequately. The glue under the label is a nano glue which we also recycle, as it doesn't biodegrade. The nanoglue is made of a nanostructured silica-based inorganic component blended with an organic polymer precursor, a bit heavy on scientific terms here... so essentially sand (minerals) and resins. We also use a paper and natural resin glue, which biodegrades.
We made it our goal to always find innovative ways to recycle, reduce, reuse, and repurpose and we thank you for being part of our journey.
''For me, personally, sustainability is an act of balancing equilibrate choices and not asymmetric consumerism. Moderation is key''
